The scars are made,
Inflicted and drawn by my own hand.
I’m ashamed, disappointed, and angry.
Why would I go that?
Why did I do that?
Yes, it’s a release,
But there are other ways.
Like writing.
The scars are a constant reminder,
Even after they fade.
Scars on my arm, scars on my heart.
But the scars on my heart
Will soon be no more.
I’m sorry, GOD.
My head was thinking; my heart was not.
And now I’m apologizing with both,
As well as the rest of my entire essence.
The scars are no more,
Neither physical nor metaphysical.
I am clean, and my heart is
Unblemished once again.
